Nomination FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

How the acknowledgement works, what the vetting involves, and what to expect at every stage — for nominees and for patients.

What is Dentistry's Finest?

Dentistry's Finest is a peer-reviewed acknowledgement recognizing heavily vetted, deeply experienced dentists who exemplify honesty, integrity, and a commitment to education. We name recipients in America's 50 largest cities and select surrounding markets, and each recipient holds a dedicated, verifiable profile page.

How are recipients chosen?

Candidates complete a detailed nomination questionnaire covering credentials, educational experience, patient reviews, and clinical work. Meeting the published criteria is what earns a nomination. Nominations that qualify advance to next steps, and winners are determined in the final stages of the process.

What does “peer reviewed” mean here?

Every winner is required to provide written peer reviews from licensed dentists — a minimum of three and up to ten. Each review must include the reviewing dentist's name, how they know the nominee, and why they believe the nominee is an appropriate recipient. Fellow clinicians putting their names behind a colleague's character is the heart of this acknowledgement.

Who can submit a nomination?

Dentists may nominate themselves, or a colleague may nominate them. When a colleague submits the nomination, the nominee is notified and must consent before any review begins.

How do I submit the peer reviews?

Peer reviews are uploaded as PDF files — either with the nomination questionnaire or later, when the nominee is contacted with next steps. They are optional at submission but required before a winner is named.

What happens after I submit a nomination?

Your questionnaire is reviewed against the published criteria, and credentials and licensure are verified. Qualifying nominees are contacted directly with next steps. If selected, your profile page is drafted from your questionnaire answers and placed in a queue for admin approval before going live.

Is there a cost?

There is no cost to nominate a dentist for inclusion, and no cost to be nominated — the questionnaire, vetting, and peer review are free. Featured listing pages of winners may involve a fee. That fee does not impact the selection process or the nominee process, which take place prior to placement: vetting concludes before any placement is discussed, and a fee can never earn a nomination.

What information gets published on a winner's page?

The profile is built from the nomination: name and credentials, practice information, biography, education statement, areas of clinical focus, and — once submitted with patient consent — clinical case studies. The star-ratings statement collected in the questionnaire is never published; it is used only during the approval process.

What are case studies?

Case studies are before-and-after clinical results published on a winner's profile. Each one is submitted by the winner with a signed attestation confirming the patient provided written authorization and approved the materials for publication. Every case study is reviewed before it goes live.

Can the acknowledgement be revoked?

Yes. The standard doesn't end at selection. If an attestation cannot be verified, a license falls out of good standing, or published materials lose patient authorization, the relevant content — or the acknowledgement itself — is removed.

How should patients use this site?

Search your city on the homepage. If a Dentistry's Finest recipient has been named in your area, you'll find their verified profile — their credentials, education, and documented clinical work — so you can choose a dentist with confidence.
